A great way to maximize the functionality and safety of your alarm system is to supplement alarms with audible, intelligible voice commands, warnings, and communications.
Systems of this nature are effective in small and large building applications, as they are meant to expand along with the alarm system which is already in place. Although some buildings may also already have a public announcement system in place, manufacturers and installers alike recommend against using the PA system as the main form of communications during times of emergencies for at least two reasons. The first reason is because people tend to tune out PA system announcements, especially when its something used frequently in the building. Secondly and even more important is that a PA system often only announces to the busiest areas of a building, or only indoors. An emergency voice communication system would utilize higher quality, louder, and more ineligible speakers to clearly convey vital information to every part of the building- inside and out.
