Most people have a key for their house, a key for their car, a key for the office, and maybe a key fob for the file room in the back. (Not to mention the collection of keys that no one is really sure what they open, but somehow ended up on your key ring…) Wouldn’t it be nice to drop a few of those keys and key fobs?
Smartphones are the answer. They are our MP3 players, our GPS, our phones, our computers, and now they can be your keys! Smartphone access control systems provide a streamlined and easy to use solution for small businesses, large corporations, and everything in between. Innovative Security can now provide you with a smartphone access control system to be standalone (meaning it controls only one door), to be integrated with your current access control system, or to control many doors with many different security settings and schedules. These systems provide all of the great features that most access control systems offer, but with one less key to worry about.
A reader is installed on the door(s) that need to be controlled. Administrators, and everyone who will need to gain access to the door(s) can download an application on their phone which is what registers your phone as a key. Using this application, administrators are able to change access schedules, view user activity, and change PIN numbers. Users simply open the application on their phone and when the phone is presented to the reader, the door will unlock. The readers use Bluetooth technology to discover the phones, and they can be discovered up to 30 feet away depending on how they are programmed.
What if we have guests?
The great thing about smartphone access control is that when you have a guest, you can grant them access remotely, from your phone, and allow them access for only as long as they need it. For example, if you have a client coming in at 8 am and leaving around noon, you can grant them access for that day from 730am-1pm, but they would not be able to re-enter after that time. The guest would have the application on their phone, and be able to gain access easily.
What if I don’t have a Smartphone?
If you don’t carry a smartphone, that’s okay too. Our systems can also provide users with traditional key fobs in the event that you or one of your employees does not use a smartphone.
So, if you’re tired of re-ordering key fobs and re-administering credentials to your users, consider a more efficient, eco-friendly, and cost effective form of access control.
